What we keep,and why.

A house keeps its guests’ confidence. We never sell your information, and we collect only what helps us host you.

Effective October 13, 2026

In short

We do not sell your information.

  • We never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • We collect what you choose to send us and, only with your permission, analytics about how the site is used.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time.
What we collect

Only what you give us, and a little about visits.

When you write to the house

The inquiry form asks for your name, email and the details of what you would like hosted. You may also share a mobile number, date, party size, organization, title and a message. Nothing is sent until you press Send.

When you browse, with your permission

If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city level), the device and browser, and how people arrived. We use it to improve your experience on the site and to understand interest in the venues and partners we work with directly. It does not give us your name, and we have turned off Google’s advertising features.

Every visit

Like every website, our hosting server keeps a short technical log (IP address, browser, page requested and time) to keep the site running and secure. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google to download them.

How we use it

To reply, to host and to improve.

  • To answer your note and plan the table, evening or occasion you asked about.
  • To keep your preferences, so your next visit starts where the last one ended, if you ask us to.
  • To understand which pages are useful and fix what is not.
  • To understand interest in the venues and partners we work with directly. We may share combined figures with those partners, such as how many people viewed their evenings, but never anything that identifies you.
  • To keep the site secure and meet legal obligations.

We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Who sees it

Our hosts, and the services that run the site.

Your note is read by the Oak & Ash team, a division of MediumFour (opens in a new tab). When we host you at a venue, we share only what the venue needs, such as your name and party size.

A few services handle information on our behalf and may use it only to provide their service to us: Google (inquiries are stored in Google Workspace; Google Analytics with your permission; Google Fonts) and our website host. We disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies

One cookie of ours. Analytics only if you say yes.

  • oa_consent (Oak & Ash): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics. Kept for 12 months.
  • _ga and _ga_… (Google Analytics): set only after you choose Accept analytics. They help us improve your experience and understand interest in our partner venues, and they tell visits apart without identifying you. Kept for up to 2 years.

We use no advertising cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline. You can change your choice at any time.

How long

No longer than we need it.

We keep inquiries while we are in touch and for as long as they help us host you, then delete them, sooner if you ask. Google Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months.

Your choices

Ask, and it is done.

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask for a copy, or withdraw your analytics permission. We will reply within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking. We honor these requests for every visitor, wherever you live.

To ask, write to the house and begin your note with “Privacy.”
